When coming up with how i wanted to present this video, i went back and watched a lot of old Nas videos. Videos like, "It Ain't Hard To Tell" & "Nas Is Like". Real hardcore, raw, and uncut visuals of him. Then i went to look at more videos such as Wu Tang "Protect Ya Neck", J. Cole "Who Dat", and Wiz Khalifa "The Statement". These were all real raw and uncut videos that had that feeling of "True Hip-Hop." With watching these videos and listening to my track over & over, i knew how i wanted to approach this video. I wanted the viewer to focus more on the song, than whats in the video. Thats what all those videos had in common. It made you listen to the song, the topic, content, lyrics, everything. So i went to Downtown Portsmouth, Heart of pistol city, and linked with Mal to shoot a couple of scenes. It was fun, exciting, & cold (lmao), but i was very proud of what i was accomplishing! Shorti and Prince came along with me, as well as Juiced Up Gotti & King to show support as well. Most likely we will release the video they same week as the mix tape. (we are looking at that friday, April 12th. Not set in stone) I can't wait till its finished!!!! Here are some pics from that day.
